This website, kevlarrisk.com, is operated by Kevlar Risk, a trading name of Kevlar Resources (Pty) Ltd ("Kevlar", "we", "us"), a company incorporated in South Africa, with its principal place of business in the Hartbeespoort area, North West Province. Kevlar Resources (Pty) Ltd is the "responsible party" for personal information processed through this website, as defined in POPIA.
Information Officer: Charles Connidaris, Legal Officer of the Kevlar group of companies. Privacy enquiries and data-subject requests: sales@kevlarrisk.com, marked "POPIA request — attention: Information Officer".

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this website, and our services are directed at businesses and property owners. We do not collect special personal information (such as health, biometric or financial account information) through this website.
3. Referrals — information about other people
Our referral programme asks you for the contact details of a third party. You may only submit another person's details if they have agreed to be contacted by Kevlar Risk — the referral form requires you to confirm this before submission, and we record that confirmation. When we first contact a referred person, we will tell them who referred them and why we are calling, and they may object to further contact at any time, after which their details will be removed from active processing.
4. The lawful basis for our processing
We process personal information on the following POPIA grounds: consent (you choose to submit a form, download a gated document, message us on WhatsApp, or confirm a referral); steps at your request prior to a contract (preparing quotations and assessments); and our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving this website and in reasonable business-to-business marketing, balanced against your rights. You may withdraw consent or object to processing at any time (section 8).
5. Cookies, analytics and advertising technologies
This website uses:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — usage measurement: pages viewed, approximate location, device information, and events such as form submissions. Google may process this information on servers outside South Africa.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag (LinkedIn Corporation) — records that a LinkedIn member visited this site so that we may measure campaigns and show relevant advertising to past visitors on LinkedIn. LinkedIn processes this data under its own privacy terms and may do so outside South Africa.
You can limit these technologies through your browser's cookie controls, ad-blocking tools, Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and your LinkedIn advertising preferences. The website remains fully usable without them.
6. Who we share personal information with (operators and transfers)
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers ("operators" under POPIA) who process it on our instructions:
- Formspree, Inc. (USA) — receives and relays website form submissions to our sales inbox;
- Google (Analytics) and LinkedIn (Insight Tag) — as described in section 5;
- Meta Platforms (WhatsApp) — if you contact us via WhatsApp;
- our email and hosting providers; and
- Kevlar group companies — specifically, if your enquiry involves a connectivity upgrade and you have opted in, we pass your details to Kevlar Connect to prepare a connectivity quotation.
Some of these operators store information outside South Africa (notably the USA). Where personal information is transferred across borders, we do so under POPIA section 72 — to recipients bound by contractual or legal obligations providing an adequate level of protection, or with your consent implied by your use of the relevant channel, or where necessary to perform at your request.
7. Security and retention
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to secure personal information: encrypted transmission (HTTPS), access limited to personnel who need it, and secured business systems. As a security company, we take this seriously — but no internet transmission is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected data subjects and the Information Regulator of any compromise as POPIA section 22 requires.
We retain enquiry and quotation information for as long as needed to serve you and for a reasonable period thereafter for record-keeping and legitimate business purposes; client records are retained for the duration of the relationship plus periods required by law (including tax and contractual limitation periods). Referral records are retained until the referral is concluded and any fee obligations are discharged. You may request deletion at any time (section 8), subject to information we are legally required to keep.
8. Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion where we are not required to retain it; object to processing, including for direct marketing; withdraw consent at any time; and complain to the Information Regulator. To exercise any of these, email sales@kevlarrisk.com with "POPIA request" in the subject; we will respond within a reasonable time and verify your identity before acting.

9. Direct marketing
Where you have enquired, downloaded a resource or become a client, we may send you relevant electronic communications about our services as permitted by POPIA section 69. Every such message will identify us and include a working unsubscribe mechanism, and we will honour opt-outs promptly.
10. CCTV and monitoring services
This notice covers this website. Where Kevlar Risk installs or monitors CCTV and security systems at client premises, the client (as the party operating surveillance at its property) is ordinarily the responsible party for that footage, and Kevlar acts as its operator under contract — processing footage only for security purposes, on instruction, with appropriate safeguards. Site-specific surveillance notices are addressed in each client engagement.
11. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time; the current version, with its effective date, will always be published at kevlarrisk.com/privacy.html. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
